What we believe in

High quality fresh food produced where possible in a sustainable way

How we do this

Middle Wold Farm at Wold Newton in the East Riding of Yorkshire is being established around a self sustaining system with the development of wind, solar and biofuels

Why we do this

Our background in research science has lead us to the realisation of the benefits of high quality fresh foods in peoples diets

Why Epicure

Epicurus was a Greek philosopher who believed true happiness could be attained through tranquillity and freedom from pain and that this state could be achieved through due understanding of those around you. Today Epicureanism is interpreted as the sensual delights of good food and drink. Both these statements represent Epicure's Larder principles.

Middle Wold Farm & The Shetland Herd

Our interest in genetic diversity led to our desire to support rare breeds in the UK. We purchased our first Shetland cow and bull calf in October 2004. We now have a small milking herd from which we make our cheeses and smoked cured meats
