About Us

All our liqueurs are home made on our family farm in East Yorkshire. The fruit we use is fresh, hand picked and carefully selected from hedgerows around the farm.

We make Sloe Gin, Sloe Vodka, Damson Gin and Damson Vodka. We also have a special Summer Fruits Gin and Summer Fruits Vodka available now.
 

Our liqueurs have a warm and fruity flavour to compliment any occasion. They can be drunk neat as a winter warmer, or also they can be mixed with ice or lemonade to make a refreshing summer quencher.



We also sell naturally reared beef fed the old fashioned way.

The cattle graze from April to October, and over the winter they are kept in straw yards and fed on silage and stock feed potatoes. They are slaughtered locally and hung for maturity.

We also sell home bred British Saddle back pork bred that are fed on home grown feed.

Sloes and Damsons

Sloes are the fruit of the blackthorn and are widespread in the woods and field hedges through the English countryside.

The blackthorn flowers in March on bare branches and the fruit ripens around mid-September when the picking begins.

Like all members of the prunus family sloes have a characteristic bluish bloom.

Since 19th century sloes have been added to gin to make the liqueur sloe gin.

Damsons are also members of the prunus family and produce small blooms in April which develop into small oval shaped fruit.

As damsons are a sweeter fruit than sloes, they produce a richer fruity flavour.

Because sloes are bitter and the liqueur tends to be slightly drier in taste.
